Seniors from The ����aa���� scored in the 99th percentile in multiple categories of a national business exam last spring, according to results released for ETS Major Field Tests earlier this year.

TMU students were in the top 1% in accounting, economics, marketing, legal and social issues, and international business.

They were in the top 4% in finance. Collectively, TMU scored better than 97% of the nearly 700 colleges and universities that administered the annual exam.

“Our students knocked it out of the park,” said Dr. Dwight Ham, chair of TMU’s business administration department.

According to its website, ETS Major Field Tests are designed to “go beyond the measurement of factual knowledge” by evaluating a student’s ability to:

• Analyze and solve problems.
• Understand relationships.
• Interpret material from their major field of study.

News of TMU’s high scores comes after TMU graduate Nathan Choy learned this summer that he’d scored higher than anyone in California on the 2021 CPA exam.

Ham attributes the overall success of TMU’s business program, first and foremost, to its commitment to ����aa����.

“As we do all our classes here at Master’s, we commit all of our time to the Lord,” Ham said. “Whether we’re talking about finance, accounting, marketing or management, we want students to understand that an important part of their education, development, and growth as a ����aa����-follower is to do well in school. And we ask for God’s blessing so that we as professors are clear in our instruction and the students can capture the significance of a ����aa����ian worldview to business and economics.”

Ham also believes TMU attracts exceptional students.

“They’re disciplined. They’re here to learn. But they’re also here to enjoy the fellowship and fun that comes with being part of our campus,” he said. “We also like to think that the professors make the courses interesting enough for them to grasp what’s key and important. We’ve been blessed with teachers who apply real-world examples to their curriculum.”

Employers have taken notice, too.

“Companies that come here to hire our students, they’re enthusiastic about it because they see the quality of student we’re producing,” Ham said. “I think that’s all reflective of the ����aa����-centeredness of our program.”
