Agribusiness

This program builds on TMU’s solid business core with specialized courses in Agricultural Management, Agricultural Products, and Agricultural Policy. It culminates in an on-site study at two agricultural sites for firsthand experience, empowering graduates in their pursuit of careers in the business of agriculture.

One-Year Bible Program

This unique program offers students the opportunity to dive into the heart of the TMU experience. Spanning two or three semesters, students complete ten Biblical Studies classes (30 units total) and also experience life in the dorms, participate in chapel, and are engaged full time in the life-on-life discipleship and academic excellence that TMU offers. Upon completion, graduates receive The Master’s Institute Award of Achievement as well as TMU alumni status.

B.A. Biblical Studies

At The ����aa����, we hold the Word of God to be sufficient in all things, including its own interpretation. To best equip our students for their intended fields, ministry or otherwise, we teach them how to approach the Word: through studying Greek and Hebrew as well as the historical and cultural context of each passage. Our students also take classes in theology, biblical counseling, and individual books of Scripture. All of our faculty and staff affirm our full doctrinal statement, which has remained essentially unchanged since our founding.

Biblical Counseling

Students are trained in the art of biblical soul care. This program prepares counselors to meet the needs of people with the all-sufficient resources that God provides, equipping them to bring biblical guidance and hope to sufferers in their local churches. Biblical counseling programs at other schools typically teach an integration model, blending cherry-picked biblical principles with secular psychology. In contrast, we teach our students to understand why Scripture is sufficient to meet the needs of individuals and why Scripture alone offers people true hope.

Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)

The Master of Healthcare Administration program offers a fully online graduate degree designed to equip individuals to become administrators, executives, and leaders across diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and more. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry’s distinct challenges and opportunities, all grounded in a solid biblical foundation.

5-Year B.A./M.Div. Cooperative TMUS

A special track that allows students to obtain a B.A. in Biblical Studies from The ����aa���� and an M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary in five years.

Biblical Languages

The Biblical Languages emphasis consists of three years of biblical Greek and one year of Hebrew. While receiving a broad education in Scripture, theology, and Bible backgrounds, these students also dive deeply into the Bible’s original languages, allowing them to engage directly with the original text without the buffer of an English translation. This emphasis is primarily designed for students pursuing seminary or a future in Bible translation. However, anyone desiring to understand Scripture more accurately through knowledge of Greek and Hebrew will benefit greatly from this program.

����aa����ian Education

The ����aa����ian Education emphasis is designed for students pursuing future ministry in education, whether that be through a local church, a public or private school, or a university. It is also valuable for students interested in missionary work. Our students study the principles of ����aa����ian education, and they put these principles into practice through ministry internships.

Global Studies

For students called to missions and missionary work abroad. This program focuses on understanding cross-cultural ministry and is designed for those who desire to serve in a full-time intercultural capacity. Students will be required to study language, church planting, cultural anthropology, and missionary life while living on the mission field for one summer. Each student will also serve in an ethnic church similar to the culture in which they desire to minister.

Theology

The Theology emphasis is a comprehensive study of biblical doctrine, from theology proper to eschatology. In addition to their deep study of systematic theology, our students are also equipped to understand the differences between ����aa����ianity and other world views, religions, and philosophies. This emphasis is designed for students pursuing seminary education and future service as a pastor or teacher.

Women’s Ministries Certificate of Achievement

The ����aa���� has developed a Women’s Ministries Certificate of Achievement available to TMU undergraduate students as well as lay people in the community. In offering this program, the School of Biblical Studies desires to train women for ministry in accordance with the model set by Titus 2, where older women are called to train younger women. This certificate is designed around the belief that ����aa����ian character is foundational to any kind of training and equipping for ministry, whether in the local church, in parachurch organizations, or in missions.

B.A. or B.S. Biological Science

This top-ranked major is for students called to careers in health, medicine, sciences or research. Rooted in an unwavering devotion to Jesus ����aa���� and the inerrant Word of God, our world-class faculty and dedicated administration prepare each student’s heart and mind for a life of eternal influence. Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine

The pre-veterinary medicine/animal science emphasis prepares students for admission to veterinary school. Gaining admission to veterinary schools is highly competitive—more so even than medical schools. Therefore, students need to approach their undergraduate studies with this in mind.

Cellular & Molecular Biology

Students in this program enjoy some of the most challenging courses in the biology major. Graduates may move into in-demand and rapidly growing careers in medicine and health, scientific research, forensic science, drug manufacture and design, and other fields in a wide array of industries.

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching is a modular program designed to refine the faithful pastor’s ability to teach and preach the Word of God.

Natural History/Environmental Biology

This program is ideal for students who thrive in the great outdoors and love wildlife. Environmental biologists work to preserve and restore the environment by identifying problems related to pollution, habitat destruction, or other environmental issues, and then providing solutions. Studies in environmental biology focus mainly on lab courses and fieldwork experiences, which prepare our students for technical, research, or consultant positions in the field. Environmental biologists are in high demand in California.

Life Science Education

This program prepares students for careers in teaching subjects including biology, physiology, and botany. Graduates may pursue careers in public or private sector education, or they may choose to pursue graduate degrees and/or research careers.

Paleontology

This program provides a hands-on and thoroughly biblical education in the science of fossils. Starting from a confident affirmation of the Bible’s worldview (including six-day creation), we teach out students to use Scripture as their solid foundation as they wrestle with the exciting and difficult questions posed by paleontology. Including research trips, internships, and hands-on experience, our students also participate in research projects alongside their professors.

Pre-Medical

This competitive program is designed for students seeking admission to medical school or further training in other health professions. We equip our students to score well on the MCAT and to excel in medical school. More importantly, our graduates are trained to be exemplary witnesses to ����aa���� in their future endeavors through their intellectual rigor, real-world career preparation, and uncompromising biblical worldview.

Pre-Dentistry

Designed for students who desire to attend dental school. With local internships, mentorship, and guidance from faculty advisors, graduates are ready to take the next step in their medical careers, defend their faith as equipped and intellectual leaders, and break new ground in their fields.

Pre-Allied Health

This top-ranked program is taught by healthcare experts and physical therapists and includes competitive internship opportunities. B.A. Classical Liberal Arts

The innovative CLA program is explicitly designed to train students in both the content and pedagogy of the classical liberal arts, preparing them for teaching positions in the rapidly growing Classical ����aa����ian Education movement and for pursuing graduate work in the humanities.

B.A. Entrepreneurship

Innovation with purpose includes creating and controlling organizations that foster disciple-making efforts, facilitate the workplace witness, and generate resources for the mission of ����aa���� through the local church. We equip marketplace ministers who initiate and grow ventures that advance the gospel and empower them to reflect the character of ����aa���� in the workplace. Students will work closely with faculty advisors, volunteer business mentors, and faith-based investment networks. Studies culminate with a capstone business plan “shark-tank” style presentation done to a panel of kingdom-minded executives and investors.

Cinema & Digital Arts

The top-ranked CDA program teams students with industry professionals, giving them the opportunity to create productions on par with the entertainment industry. We are also distinct in our philosophy, training the next generation of artists to recognize God as the ultimate creative force and to reflect this knowledge in what (and how) they create. The program has created award-winning film productions that have received industry notoriety, with a location in Southern California that provides access to industry professionals in various arenas of media, securing noted guest speakers and prime internships.

B.A. Communication

The top-ranked communication major uniquely equips students to not only excel in their chosen focus but also do so in a way that will glorify God. One of the essential elements of ����aa����ianity is evangelism, and a degree in Communication prepares students with some of the best skills to reach the most significant number of people — whether supporting ����aa����ian organizations or working in a secular work environment. Our classrooms are taught by working professionals who engage students with hands-on experience as well as working as a part of a team. There is a synergy between all emphases, as required in the professional world. Each year they work together to create projects like short films and graphic novels, which can later be used in their professional portfolios. No graduate of the Communication department leaves unprepared.

Co-curricular program

TMU Theatre Arts is a co-curricular program housed in the Communication Department. It is designed to give training and expression in the performing arts alongside any major at the University. Participants and contributors come from all disciplines, dorms, and interests at TMU. Our program offers classes such as Theatre Arts, Theatre Production, and Introduction to Acting, allowing any students to receive formal, credited training in the performing arts.

We instill students with a biblical philosophy of the performing arts while giving them experience in the craft of acting and/or the many aspects of production. We emphasize the process as much as the product, which enables us to have an others-focused theatre program. This mindset pervades everything we do as we strive together to serve with our varied gifts. Many of our graduates have continued on to jobs in the arts industry or teaching, and some have pursued graduate school. We love seeing the various ways they use their skills and become gospel witnesses.

Creative Writing & Publishing

This CWP program is designed for students who are passionate about content creation across the changing and expanding spectrum of communicative media, including fiction and non-fiction, photography, videography, journalism, and podcasting. CWP students choose from a wide variety of courses that provide opportunities to develop their unique creative interests, and they graduate with content creation skills that are increasingly in-demand across diverse industries. Students graduate with not just a degree, but also with a full portfolio of creative work to showcase to employers and clients.

Journalism

Journalism students must be characterized by a love for and a commitment to truth and accuracy. By participating in TMU’s student newspaper (“The Mane”) and completing internships with local and national news agencies and outlets who have partnered with TMU, students are placed into the world of the working journalist. Students may choose to specialize in business, finance, politics or other areas of interest.

Speech Communication

Students are equipped to think, write, and speak with clarity and effectiveness. We stress communication skills at both the interpersonal and public levels while also helping students develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. This emphasis is ideal for students seeking careers as speech teachers, managers, salespeople, public relations practitioners, lawyers, or customer service representatives. Graduates are experts in persuading effectively and ethically, using both verbal and nonverbal skills that allow them to connect with their audiences. As followers of ����aa���� who have been called to make disciples, our students are equipped to speak authoritatively, confidently, and winsomely about the Master. And while they are here, our students are themselves discipled by faculty who are working professionals in a variety of creative and communicative fields, and who can equip them with both vocational wisdom and knowledge of how to integrate their faith into their future careers.

B.A. English

The English major offers a primarily traditional curriculum. The philosophy and practice of the faculty is to emphasize works of recognized and enduring merit in the canon of English, American, and World literature. At the same time, they remain receptive to the inclusion of new or neglected works that are compatible with the English department’s philosophy. Several courses examine critical theory, and faculty members employ a variety of methodologies in literary analysis, while favoring a historical and exegetical approach. Students may choose to obtain a major or a minor in English or work toward qualifying for the California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. Graduates with an English major have opportunities for careers in a diversity of fields: teaching, missions, journalism, publishing, insurance, law, paralegal work, banking, personnel management, public relations, and government service.

B.A. History

The B.A. in History equips students with an understanding of the complex factors that have produced present-day civilizations, as well as helping students become responsible ����aa����ian citizens. With an emphasis on systematic research and analysis, students receive instruction in preparation for careers in education, business, government service, public relations, or library work. Their development also prepares them for graduate study in law, theology, history, or political science.

B.A Interdisciplinary Studies

The B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies is a major for visionaries, creatives, and entrepreneurs. It’s for students who want to be well-rounded and in the highest demand to employers who rely on people trained in multiple areas. Students can design their own major for maximum effectiveness. By specializing in three areas of choice, students become the leader and thinker the modern workforce demands. Students complete 3 blocks: for the first 2 blocks, students choose areas of study from 14 different emphases options. The third block includes the internship program and a capstone project.

B.A. Music

The NASM accredited B.A in Music is designed for students with a musical background who desire to receive a solid education in music while also pursuing studies in other areas. B.M. Music

The NASM accredited B.M. offers 9 highly personalized programs. Because God himself is musical, all creation sounds his praise. When his people are controlled by his Spirit, the music they make glorifies King Jesus. Thus the only higher pursuit than the study of music is the study of God himself. The faculty of the School of Music at The ����aa���� believes in the vital role and purpose of this gift and is privileged to train students to use their musical abilities to the glory of God by developing wisdom, establishing convictions and producing leaders.

B.A. Audio Production

This interdisciplinary degree offers courses in sound production and electronic communication, giving students a strong foundation in sound design, film, and music production. Students learn to work alongside fellow musicians, growing and maturing through numerous performing opportunities, and learning from premier music instructors in Los Angeles. Emmy Award-winning composers and recording engineers also infuse their expertise into this unique program. This prepares graduates for a diverse set of entertainment-related careers, as well as being equipped for media positions in churches, parachurch organizations and nonprofits.

B.A. Political Studies

Majoring in Political Studies at the ����aa���� equips believers not only for productive careers in law, politics, or business but also for responsible citizenship. Through a biblical framework, professors teach small classes on the theory and philosophy of civilizations. This major also gives students the opportunity to participate in a semester-long internship in Washington, D.C., offering a front-row seat to the inner workings of the government and opportunities for networking.

Criminal Justice

Study the American criminal justice system, including criminal law, correctional theory, law enforcement, courts, and law enforcement agencies and their jurisdictions.

B.S. Accounting

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting trains students in accounting principles and financial management for individuals and companies. Accelerated 8-week courses are 100% online.

For students pursuing careers involving elections, presidential or congressional affairs, political communication, U.S. diplomatic history, or The Federalist Papers, this program equips believers not only for compelling careers in law, politics, or business but also for responsible citizenship. Professors teach small classes on the theory and philosophy of civilizations through a biblical framework. We teach that God is sovereign in human affairs of the past, present, and future. The Master of Education in Teaching is a two-year, 100% online graduate degree program designed to help strengthen teaching practice of classroom teachers. The program is designed to help teachers build on knowledge learned in a credential program and/or on the job, with courses emphasizing practical application of theory with a scriptural lens. Students will complete projects relevant to their current teaching assignment. The capstone project for the program includes a formal action research project.
