In April, several students from The ����aa���� had the opportunity to work on the set of a video podcast, serving alongside the production team that created “The Essential Church.”

The students were nominated for this opportunity by Prof. Matt Green, chair of TMU’s Cinema & Digital Arts (CDA) department. Kiana Arzate, Jonathan Hickman, and Jack Bleeker worked on the camera crew; Johnny McConnell and Seth Zeko helped with lighting and grip work; and Dijana Wasser served as a production assistant.

This opportunity allowed students to gain hands-on production experience, learning from a crew that has worked extensively in the industry, including on projects like “Star Wars: Squadrons,” the LEGO Ninjago TV series, and “Top Chef.”

The project they worked on is a video podcast titled “Rethinking Fertility,” featuring Emma Waters, a senior policy analyst for The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Technology and the Human Person. The podcast is being produced in connection with “Frozen Orphans,” an upcoming film about the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) industry.

TMU’s CDA students have regular opportunities to work on film productions, including the University’s own feature-length projects such as “The Descent” and its sequel.
