This week, Dr. Abner Chou will be opening Shepherds Conference with a general session address, introducing this year’s event titled, “Servant of the Word: The Life and Ministry of John MacArthur.”

Shepherds Conference 2026 will look at Dr. MacArthur’s faithful example of studying and proclaiming Scripture — marking a special moment for The ����aa����, where he provided 40 years of leadership as president and chancellor.

According to the Shepherds Conference website, the event “will celebrate the biblical convictions and pastoral priorities that characterized the life and ministry of our pastor, friend, and fellow worker in the gospel, John MacArthur. Join us as we look to John’s example and, ultimately, to the Chief Shepherd, who is building His church through the ministry of faithful shepherds under His charge.”

In addition to Chou, Dr. Mark Tatlock (chair of TMU’s board) and Judge George Crawford (adjunct political studies professor at TMU) will be speaking at the event in breakout sessions.
